Madrid has world-class museums, a legendary nightlife, and a royal palace. Did you know that its sweetest secrets are hidden in plain sight, tucked behind the marble counters of pastry shops that have been serving the city for nearly two centuries?
Join us as we tour the center of Madrid from Plaza de Oriente to Plaza de Canalejas, stopping at the city's most famous sites and visiting Madrid's most historic pastelerías - each with its own story, its own specialty, and its own slice of the city's history.
As we pass along the famous Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, you'll dip churros into thick hot chocolate at one of the oldest churrerías in the city, taste cookies originally created for a young Spanish king, bite into a crispy bartolillo - one of the oldest and most authentic sweets of the city, try the original turrón made from almonds grown along Spain's Mediterranean coast, among others!
Every shop on this tour has earned a plaque from the City of Madrid, recognizing it as a historic business. Every recipe has been passed down through generations. And every taste comes with a story worth savoring.
This is not just your regular walking history tour, it's a flavorful way of discovering Madrid's rich culture and history.
