Know before you go
- All visitors must pass through airport-style security. During high season, the wait at security may be up to 30 minutes.
- Knees and shoulders must be covered to enter the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Guests not meeting the dress code may be refused entry. No hats or flip flops please.
- On Wednesdays, we are unable to visit St Peter's Church due to the mass, instead, our guide will make up for this by visiting more sites inside of the Vatican Museums. Tours starting after 3:30 PM are not guaranteed entry into St. Peter’s Basilica.
- The Sistine Chapel can be subject to unforeseen closure for religious or political events.
- The Sistine Chapel is a place of worship, so visitors are not allowed to speak inside. Your guide will explain what you will see before entering.
- This tour involves walking, stairs, and uneven terrain. It is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. A soft baby carrier is recommended.
