Cathedral of Seville is the biggest gothic temple in the world. The construction of this monument was dated back to the 15th century. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Learn about the origin of the Cathedral that was built over the Mezquita Aljama in the city, the bell tower Giralda over the minaret of the mosque, and the courtyard of orange trees over the ablutions courtyard. Giralda is the bell tower for the Cathedral of Seville and reaches a height of 104 meters, where you will find one of the best views in the city.
The tour continues to the Alcazar, one of the most important royal palaces still in use in Europe. This fortified palace was built during different historical times, Islamic motifs, Baroque, Renaissance, and others. It was also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. This royal palace is still the official residence for the Royal Spanish family when they visit the city. To determine its origin one must go back to the middle ages, from this period the Alcazar was incorporating different styles from the Islamic and Christian reminiscences.
