Florence: Food Walking Tour with Local Steak and Tuscan Wine

Experience the flavors of Florence on an unforgettable evening food tour through the city's tastiest spots. Start your journey at the iconic Piazza della Signoria, where you'll marvel at Renaissance sculptures, stunning artworks, and open-air galleries that set the scene for your Tuscan adventure.

First up, we dive straight into Italian tradition – ever heard of aperitivo? Begin with a visit to an old wine window, the kind Renaissance legends like Michelangelo once frequented for liquid inspiration and a quick bite.

Next, we’ll wander to a cozy vinaino on Via dei Neri, a bustling street filled with panini shops, cheese counters, and tempting cured meats. You'll taste local samples of meats and cheeses, and wash it all down with some delicious vino while learning from our guide why meats and cheeses tend to be more ‘’spezziato’’ in Florence than in the rest of Italy. You'll also have the chance to dig your teeth into tomato bruschetta, classic thick tomato soup known as pappa al pomodoro, and two different paccheri pasta dishes one with yellow tomato sauce and the other with classic red tomato sauce. Then indulge in a tasting selection of Orange mustard, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil.

Our journey continues to the iconic Ponte Vecchio, the vibrant bridge over the Arno River. Once home to fishmongers and butchers, today it dazzles with artisan jewelers. After soaking up the history, cross the bridge to head into the lively Oltrarno district toward your steak dinner.

Now for the grand finale! At our fourth stop, we’ll settle into a traditional trattoria to indulge in Tuscany’s most famous dish: Bistecca alla Fiorentina. This legendary steak, celebrated for its unique cut and incredible taste, is served alongside golden roasted potatoes and paired with even more wine – truly a meal to remember.

Lastly, wrap up your evening with a visit to one of Florence's finest gelateria's where you can end your food venture on a sweet note sampling a scoop (or two!) of true artisan gelato!
