Rome: Tuscany Day Trip with Vineyard Lunch and Wine Tasting

Tuscany is at its best when the day feels easy: hilltop views, great wine, and just enough time to wander, without juggling transport or reservations. This day trip from Rome links Civita di Bagnoregio, a winery lunch with tastings, and Pienza into one smooth route.

Begin the day in central Rome, where an expert guide checks everyone in and gets the group settled on a comfortable coach. As the city streets fall away, the route heads north toward Lazio’s dramatic badlands and distant hill towns.

Arrive near Civita di Bagnoregio and take the included shuttle up to the entrance. From there, cross the famous 300-meter pedestrian bridge into the cliff-perched village, with wide views of pale tufa rock and deep ravines on both sides.

Inside the village, there is time to explore at an easy pace. Wander narrow stone lanes, pause in quiet piazzas, and step out to viewpoints where the landscape drops away in every direction before meeting back up with the group.

Back on the coach, the day continues toward the Montepulciano countryside for the next chapter. At a family-run winery, sample typical local products such as pecorino, prosciutto, salame, capocollo, and bruschetta with olive oil.
