We will visit a series of atmospheric traditional pubs, each with a unique story to tell… • Meet at Barbican Underground Station and discover the unique history of this very special corner of London, as we uncover a secret lying deep beneath the surface • Discover our first haunted pub, frequented by a friendly ghost, and enjoy a complimentary half-pint of traditional English beer (or non-alcoholic alternative) • Explore one of London’s most notorious plague pits, dating back to the Black Death • Hear about the grisly fate of the monks at the Charterhouse monastery • Discover Smithfield, the site of some of the bloodiest executions in England’s history. Home to a market for over a thousand years, it was once notorious as a centre of criminal activity, during Dickens’s lifetime. It was used as a filling location for Skyfall, Closer, Snatch and Sherlock • Enjoy a beer at a pub frequented by 19th century ‘resurrection men’ (body snatchers), haunted by the ghost of one of their victims • Uncover the secrets of the City of London’s oldest surviving church and its ghosts.
