Lake Como is the most famous lake in Italy, and on a busy summer day it can also be the most frustrating: 60-to-90-minute ferry queues between late morning and late afternoon, packed stations, and half your day spent standing in line. This full day is built to do the opposite. Small group, capped at 15. Train tickets, boat and boat tickets, and a local guide — all arranged and pre-booked, so you skip the lines and just enjoy the lake.
We start in Como, the lively town at the southern tip of the lake, and board the boat there — with skip-the-line entrance,. Then comes the part you'll remember: a scenic ride up the lake. You'll glide past Villa Oleandra in Laglio (George Clooney's), Villa Balbiano (House of Gucci, The Devil Wears Prada 2), Villa del Balbianello (Star Wars, James Bond - Casino Royale), the legendary Villa d'Este seen properly from the water.
The boat brings you to Bellagio, the "pearl of Lake Como" — stepped alleys, manicured gardens, boutiques, and views down both arms of the lake. You get free time to wander, shop, and sit down to a proper lunch at a lake-view spot your guide actually rates, not a tourist trap.
From Bellagio you cross to Varenna — pastel houses, a lakeside promenade, narrow cobblestone lanes.
From Varenna your guide takes you back to Milan by train — or, if you'd rather make a day of it, stay for an aperitivo by the water, watch the evening light on the lake, and head back whenever you like.
Pre-booked tickets with skip-the-line entrance for the boat, a local guide who knows the timings cold, and a group of no more than 15. Not the biggest tour on the lake. The calmer, smarter, better-looking way to spend a day on it.

Know before you go
- Bring sun protection in summer (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) and a layer for the cooler air on the water.
- In rare cases of strikes, railworks, force majeure, or other operational reasons, we may adjust the departure time, change the means of transport, or rearrange the day's logistics to make sure the tour still runs smoothly. If anything changes, we'll contact you in advance.
- Please arrive at the meeting point on time, as the tour follows train and ferry schedules and cannot wait for late arrivals.
- The tour runs in most weather conditions. Lake Como is beautiful rain or shine, so please dress for the forecast and bring a light rain jacket if needed. In case of severe weather, the boat cruise or some activities may be adjusted for safety.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes — expect cobblestones and steps.
