Start your journey from Tokyo’s stylish Ginza district on a private full-day excursion to Nikko, where nature, history, and spirituality come together. As you leave the city behind, the scenery transforms into peaceful mountains, lush forests, and a completely different atmosphere.
Your first stop is the iconic Shinkyo Bridge, a striking red structure crossing the Daiya River and marking the entrance to Nikko’s sacred area. Surrounded by natural beauty and local legends, it offers a memorable introduction to the region.
Continue to the magnificent Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu. Known for its intricate carvings, vivid colors, and exceptional craftsmanship, this historic complex reveals the depth of Japan’s feudal heritage through its peaceful grounds and ornate architecture.
Next, head into the mountains to admire the powerful Kegon Falls, one of Nikko’s most famous natural landmarks. With a dramatic drop of nearly 100 meters, the waterfall is surrounded by cliffs and forest, creating a stunning setting to relax and enjoy the scenery. (Please note: access to Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji may be affected during January and February due to weather conditions, in which case alternative panoramic viewpoints such as Rinnoji Temple and Futarasan Shrine may be offered.)
In the afternoon, visit the tranquil Lake Chuzenji, located at the base of Mount Nantai. Its calm waters and scenic surroundings offer a peaceful final stop before returning to Tokyo.
After a full day of discovery, return to the city with lasting impressions of Nikko’s natural beauty and spiritual heritage on this private experience.
