London: Historic Pub Tour & Jack the Ripper Evening Walk

London has a daytime face and a darker one after sunset — and this full-day combo shows you both, with a local guide and a small group of no more than 15.

Your afternoon: historic pubs of Fleet Street. You'll meet at 2:00 pm in Holborn and set off on a 2.5-hour walking tour through four genuinely historic pubs. Step inside Cittie of Yorke, on a pub site since 1430, with its soaring medieval-style hall. Visit the Old Bank of England, a grand former bank branch with whispered links to the Sweeney Todd legend. Stand inside Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, rebuilt in 1667 after the Great Fire, where Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once drank and wrote. Finish at The Salisbury Pub, an architectural gem saved from demolition. Between pubs, your guide tells the story of London's drinking culture — Tudor merchants, Victorian journalists, the hidden alleyways most visitors walk straight past.

Your evening is yours. The pub tour ends around 4:30 pm near St. Paul's Cathedral. You'll then have free time to find dinner and explore at your own pace before the evening tour — your guide will suggest good places to eat near the City and Whitechapel.

Your night: the Jack the Ripper tour. At 7:30 pm you'll meet in Whitechapel for a 1.5-hour walk through the streets of the 1888 murders. Your guide retraces the case through the real locations — the alleyways, the courtyards, the sites — separating documented history from Victorian myth, and bringing the East End of 1888 vividly back to life.

It's a small-group experience throughout — never a coach crowd — designed for curious travellers who want London's history told properly: the cosy and the grisly, the literary and the criminal, all in one day.
