Thames River - Ferris Wheel - Houses of Parliament - Waterloo Bridge - Westminster Abbey - Trafalgar Square
Begin your tour near the London Eye, where the soft golden light of late afternoon creates one of the most beautiful atmospheres in the city. Your guide will lead you along the South Bank, introducing the River Thames as the historic heart of London and helping you find great angles for photos of the London Eye, the river, bridges, and the surrounding skyline.
Continue towards the Southbank Centre, one of London’s most important cultural areas. Here, modern art, music, theatre, street life, riverside cafés, and city views come together to show a more creative and contemporary side of London.
As you walk towards Waterloo Bridge, the view opens dramatically. This area offers one of the most cinematic perspectives of London, with distant views of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Bridge, and the curve of the River Thames.
The tour then continues to the riverside lawn opposite the Houses of Parliament. This is one of the best classic viewpoints for photographing Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Bridge, and the River Thames in one wide composition. It is also a wonderful place for portraits, couple photos, family photos, and wide-angle river views.
When the weather, moon phase, and moonrise direction are suitable, this riverside area can also be an excellent place to wait for a full moon or supermoon view with London landmarks. London is especially beautiful for moon photography because of its open river views, bridges, historic architecture, and iconic skyline. When the moon rises behind the city and reflects on the Thames, the scene can feel dramatic, peaceful, and deeply romantic.
Next, walk across Waterloo Bridge as the sky begins to enter the blue hour. The deep blue evening sky, the lights along the river, passing boats, historic bridges, and the glowing buildings on both banks create one of the most breathtaking views in London.
Arriving on the North Bank, the city becomes even more cinematic. The deep blue sky contrasts beautifully with the warm yellow lights of Big Ben, Westminster, riverside buildings, and bridges.
The final part of the walk leads towards Trafalgar Square and the exterior of the National Gallery. At night, this area is full of atmosphere, with fountains, lights, Nelson’s Column, wide steps, and lively city energy. It is a great place for night portraits, city-view photos, and, when the conditions are right, special full moon photos with London’s historic skyline.
This is a light walking tour with a relaxed pace. You will stroll along the Thames at sunset, enjoy London’s blue hour views, and have time to pause when needed. If the group feels like taking a short break, your guide can help find a nearby café where you may enjoy a coffee at your own expense before continuing the walk.
