Discover the flavors of Florence on an unforgettable evening food tour through some of the city's most delicious and authentic spots. Begin your culinary adventure in the iconic Piazza della Signoria, surrounded by Renaissance sculptures, beautiful works of art, and open-air galleries that set the perfect scene for your Tuscan experience.
First, we'll dive into one of Italy's most beloved traditions: aperitivo. Start with a visit to a historic wine shop, one of those charming local places that, according to legend, were once frequented by Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo, who came here to enjoy a glass of wine and a quick bite.
From there, we'll make our way to a welcoming enoteca on Via dei Neri, one of Florence's liveliest food streets, lined with sandwich shops, cheese counters, and tempting selections of local cured meats. Taste a variety of Tuscan cheeses and cured meats paired with delicious local wine while your guide introduces you to the traditions and flavors behind Florence's food culture.
You'll also have the chance to enjoy classic Italian specialties such as tomato bruschetta, traditional pappa al pomodoro, and two different pasta dishes, one featuring a yellow tomato sauce and the other a classic red tomato sauce. Along the way, sample a selection of orange mustard, balsamic vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil.
Our culinary journey then continues toward the iconic Ponte Vecchio, the historic bridge crossing the Arno River. Once home to fishmongers and butchers, the bridge is now famous for its beautiful artisan jewelry shops. After taking in the history and atmosphere, we'll cross the bridge and head into the lively Oltrarno neighborhood.
Here, you'll enjoy another delicious stop featuring traditional Tuscan specialties and local flavors, accompanied by wine and a relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect opportunity to experience the authentic side of Florence away from the busiest tourist spots.
To finish the evening, we'll visit one of Florence's beloved gelato shops, where you can end your culinary adventure on a sweet note with one or two scoops of authentic artisan gelato.
At the end of the tour, your guide will be happy to share recommendations for some of the best restaurants, wine bars, and local food spots in Florence, so you can continue discovering the city's incredible culinary scene throughout the rest of your stay.
