Meet your guide and enter the Vatican Museums through the priority entrance. Follow a carefully curated route through one of the world’s greatest art collections, discovering masterpieces such as Laocoön and His Sons, the Belvedere Torso, Raphael’s celebrated frescoes, and Michelangelo’s legendary Sistine Chapel ceiling, all without the challenge of navigating the vast museums on your own.

Walk through the Pinecone Courtyard before exploring the Pio-Clementino Museum, home to some of antiquity’s finest sculptures. Continue through the Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of Tapestries, and the breathtaking Gallery of Maps as your guide brings to life the artists, ambitious popes, rivalries, and centuries of history that shaped the Vatican.

Before arriving at the Sistine Chapel, your guide will reveal the hidden stories, symbolism, and artistic genius behind Michelangelo’s ceiling and The Last Judgment, allowing you to fully appreciate the chapel during your independent visit, where commentary is not permitted.

The journey reaches its climax as you continue through the reserved internal passage into St. Peter’s Basilica. Beneath its soaring dome, admire Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s magnificent Baldachin, and the extraordinary scale of the world’s greatest church as your guide explains the masterpieces, history, and spiritual significance that define this remarkable monument.

Choose the optional Dome experience to continue above the Basilica after the guided tour. Ride the elevator to the rooftop terrace, admire the Dome’s magnificent mosaics from just metres away, then browse the gift shop, enjoy a coffee overlooking Vatican City, or simply soak in the atmosphere before climbing the remaining 320 steps to the summit with your included audioguide.

At the top, discover one of Rome’s most extraordinary viewpoints. Gaze across the rooftops of the Eternal City, admire St. Peter’s Square from above, and enjoy a rare panoramic view across the whole of Vatican City. It’s a fitting finale: standing atop the world’s greatest church while overlooking the world’s smallest independent state, revealing a side of Vatican City that few visitors ever experience.

• Basilica: Wednesday mornings and tours after 3:00 PM are visited independently (no guide inside).
• Dome upgrade (if selected): tour ends in the Basilica, then you continue independently via smartphone audioguide—bring a charged phone and headphones. Elevator reaches the terrace only; ~320 steps remain to the summit. Not advised for reduced mobility, heart/respiratory issues, severe vertigo, or claustrophobia.
• Dress code enforced; shoulders and knees covered.
• If closures affect any core part of the experience such as Sistine Chapel or Basilica, customers will receive a full refund.
• No cloakroom; small bags only. Strollers left under the Basilica portico.
• Photo ID required; name, age, and ticket type must match your booking.
• Sistine Chapel: no photos or talking.
• Skip-the-line bypasses the ticket line only; all visitors pass security.
