Green Train Tour from Milan to Interlaken & the Swiss Alps
Your adventure begins as we gather at Piazza Duca D'Aosta for a bus ride heading north through Italy.
As we depart from Milan, the scenic town of Domodossola awaits us in the Italian region of Piedmont. Here, we will hop on the Trenino Verde, or Green Train of the Alps, embarking on a mesmerizing two-hour journey that crosses into Switzerland. This train ride will take you through breathtaking landscapes, including the majestic Simplon Pass at an elevation of 2008 meters.
Upon entering the charming Swiss alpine region, we disembark at the station within the alpine village of Spiez. You will have ample time to enjoy lunch and savor exquisite local Swiss cuisine. After our meal, we will reconvene at the village center for a boat tour on Lake Thun, heading towards Interlaken.
Throughout the Lake Thun cruise, you will be able to appreciate the magnificent silhouettes of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks, three icons of the Swiss Alps. Once in Interlaken, feel free to wander its charming historic center at your own pace, where delightful Swiss chocolate shops await your discovery.
Later in the afternoon, we will regroup in Interlaken's center to board the Green Train back to Domodossola. Our journey concludes with a bus ride back to Milan, with an expected return to the starting point approximately 11 hours after our adventure commenced.
