Stockholm unfolds across 14 islands, part of an archipelago that counts over 24,000 islands in total. Experience this stunning landscape aboard a serene boat journey, promising a peaceful yet memorable cruise.
Details of the Boat Journey
At the scheduled time, we will gather at Skeppsbrokajen Kajplats, 104, to board a vessel for our exploration of the Stockholm archipelago, leaving the lively city behind.
We will initially view the Royal Palace, located in Gamla Stan, the historic heart of Stockholm. During our journey, the guide will provide intriguing insights about this landmark, the Swedish royal family, and local traditions. Did you know this palace is regarded as one of the largest in Europe? It features over 600 rooms!
Our route will take us past the island of Djurgården, a favorite spot for both local residents and visitors. This area is rich in historical sites, museums, galleries, the amusement park Gröna Lund, the open-air museum Skansen, and beautiful stretches of forest and meadows. We will then glide by the southern neighborhood of Södermalm, celebrated for its alternative, bohemian vibe.
Next, we’ll observe the islet of Riddarholmen, part of Gamla Stan, adorned with numerous 17th-century palaces. From a distance, you’ll spot the striking Riddarholmen Church, the resting place of Swedish royalty. Additionally, we’ll pass the cluster of four small islands known as Fjäderholmarna, which are included in the Royal National City Park.
While you take in the breathtaking scenery of the archipelago surrounding Stockholm, you will have an opportunity to order a drink from the onboard bar at your leisure.
After savoring the spectacular views for two hours, we will return to our original meeting point, concluding our delightful boat ride.
