Lucerne & Bürgenstock Day Trip

Your journey begins at the Sihlquai bus terminal parking lot in Zurich, where you'll board the bus and set off towards Lucerne. As you travel, take in the stunning sights of the Lake of the Four Cantons. Along the route, your guide will highlight significant landmarks of the old town, such as the Chapel Bridge, famed as Europe's oldest wooden bridge and a well-known Swiss icon, as well as the Jesuit Church, a remarkable Baroque structure by the River Reuss.

Upon arrival in Lucerne, celebrated for its picturesque charm and historical allure, you'll have free time to wander and discover its enchanting attractions at your leisure. Your guide will suggest several noteworthy spots to visit, including the delightful Weinmarkt Square.

After savoring your time in Lucerne, you'll enjoy a boat ride across Lake Lucerne to Kehrsiten, followed by a ride on the funicular railway up Bürgenstock Mountain. At the summit, you can either revel in a hike through the spectacular landscape or visit the renowned resort that has welcomed distinguished guests since its opening in 1827, including famous personalities like Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery. Don’t miss the chance to ascend to the Hammetschwand Lift, the tallest exterior elevator in the world.

As your day concludes, you'll descend via funicular back to Lucerne, where you will reunite with your guide for the return bus trip to Zurich.

The tour includes a guide from Zurich to Lucerne and back, while you will have the freedom to navigate Lucerne and Bürgenstock independently, armed with valuable insights from your guide.
Be aware that some shops in Lucerne and Bürgenstock do not operate on Sundays.
The funicular railway will undergo maintenance and will be closed from March 16th to 20th, 2026.

Meeting Point

The tour will start at the designated time at the Sihlquai bus station parking lot, located at the following address in Zurich: Limmatstrasse 2 (in front of the Hotel Fred). Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Meeting point directions

To get to the Sihlquai parking lot by public transport, you can take the streetcar. Lines 4, 6 and 13 will leave you at the stop called Sihlquai / HB. The Central Train Station (Zürich Hauptbahnhof) is only a 10-minute walk from the Sihlquai parking lot.
