Experience Madrid's food culture as you explore Chamberí, one of the city's favorite neighborhoods for eating and drinking like a local, away from the busiest tourist areas.
We will visit a gourmet Jamón Iberico shop (Spanish Ham), where a maestro cortador cuts different slices to be tasted side by side, so you can taste exactly what separates good jamón from just good, or try local cheeses if you don't eat meat.
From there, we head to a historic bar that has served traditional Madrid cuisine since 1949, where you order in front of an open kitchen. The local beer (Mahou) still supplies straight from the brewery, its beer stored in huge tanks in plain view and refilled every week.
Visit one of Chamberí's trendiest bars, where you'll discover the tradition of the Spanish aperitivo : vermouth poured straight from the barrel and snacks, and learn why it's one of Madrid's favorite daily rituals.
