Meet your Douro Wonders hosts at Gate B of Douro Marina in Afurada and walk together to the boat. Once on board, settle into the cushioned seating and begin your 90-minute small-group cruise with a welcome Portuguese Porto Tonic, or water or juice.
Pass beneath Arrábida Bridge and continue towards Porto’s historic riverfront. Along the way, discover the new bridge taking shape over the Douro, Massarelos Church and the neighbourhood’s former fishing and fish-market area, the Crystal Palace Gardens, and Porto’s old Customs House, where historic mooring rings can still be seen beside the water.
As the city opens up ahead, take in views of Ribeira, Clérigos Tower, Porto Cathedral, the Gaia waterfront and the historic Port wine cellars. Cruise beneath Dom Luís I Bridge and enjoy time for photographs with the bridge and both riverbanks behind you.
Continue past Infante Bridge, Maria Pia Bridge and São João Bridge towards Freixo Bridge before turning back towards Afurada. Across the route, you will see the seven bridges that connect Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, each belonging to a different chapter of the city’s history.
