Begin your tour at the Manhattan City Hall entrance and follow your guide onto the wooden pedestrian promenade. Approach the monumental Gothic stone towers, observe the intricate web-like steel-cable structure, and stop at the central overlook for panoramic East River views.
Hear the dramatic true story of the Roebling family: the designer’s fatal accident, the decompression sickness suffered by chief engineer Washington Roebling, and how Emily Roebling kept the 14-year-long project moving forward.
Learn how this single bridge turned two separate cities into one greater New York. Enjoy plenty of pauses for photos and quiet appreciation of the skyline, Statue of Liberty, and harbor scenery.
Conclude your tour as you descend from the bridge straight into trendy DUMBO, the former industrial-turned-art neighborhood.
