Step into the world of Salvador Dalí with a journey through the places that shaped his life and work, from his birthplace to the landscapes that inspired his imagination. The day begins in Figueres, where the Dalí Theatre-Museum stands as the largest surrealist artwork in the world. You'll see the street where he was born and explore the museum, discovering a mix of architecture, paintings and sculptures that reflect his distinctive vision.
Winter schedule (15 September to 30 June)
After the museum visit, head to the coastal village of Cadaques. With its whitewashed houses and narrow streets, it's one of the most picturesque spots on the Costa Brava. You'll have time to explore and have lunch at your own expense. The route then follows the coast to Port Lligat, where Dalí lived and worked from 1930 onwards. Here, he gradually transformed a modest fisherman's house into his home and studio, where many of his works were created. The day ends at Cap de Creus, the easternmost point of mainland Spain, known for its dramatic coastal scenery.
Summer schedule (1 July to 14 September)
The morning follows the same itinerary as the winter schedule, but the visit to Dalí's house is replaced with a stop at Púbol Castle. Dali gifted this Gothic-Renaissance palace to his wife Gala in 1970 and restored it with selected furnishings and painted interiors. After lunch, the afternoon continues to Platja de Castell, an area Dali often visited while calling on his friend, the painter Josep Sert.
