The Vatican Museums hold one of the richest art collections on earth — and one of the longest queues in Rome. This experience removes the wait entirely. With priority access, you walk past the ticket lines and straight into the galleries, leaving you free to spend your time on the art rather than the pavement.
From there, the pace is yours. Move quickly through the corridors to reach the Sistine Chapel, or take the slow route and stop wherever something catches your eye. When you're finished, a proper Italian meal that you picked from the meeting point — no hunting for a restaurant in the crowded streets outside.
What You'll See
The Pio-Clementino Museum — Classical sculpture at its finest, including the Laocoön and the Apollo Belvedere, displayed in the octagonal courtyard where popes once kept their private collections.
The Gallery of Tapestries — Vast Flemish weavings from designs by Raphael's students, hung along a dimly lit corridor that makes the colours glow.
The Gallery of Geographical Maps — A 120-metre hall lined with 16th-century frescoed maps of Italy, beneath one of the most ornate gilded ceilings in the Vatican.
The Raphael Rooms — Four frescoed chambers painted for Pope Julius II, including The School of Athens, a masterpiece of Renaissance perspective and one of the most reproduced images in Western art.
The Sistine Chapel — The finale. Michelangelo's ceiling, painted between 1508 and 1512, and The Last Judgment on the altar wall, completed nearly three decades later. Restoration has returned the colours to their original intensity. You'll have time to stand still and look up.
