Leave Lisbon behind for a full-day journey through the Arrábida region, where Atlantic cliffs, historic fortifications, and scenic mountain viewpoints come together in one memorable route. Starting in the morning, you’ll cross the iconic 25th April Bridge and head south for a day of coastal landscapes and local heritage. Your first major stop is Cape Espichel, a dramatic headland with sweeping ocean views and rugged cliffs. Continue to Sesimbra, a traditional fishing village known for its beaches and seaside atmosphere. Here you’ll see the fishing port and visit the 12th-century Castle of Sesimbra—often referred to as the “Moorish Castle”—for a look at the area’s layered past. Afterward, enjoy photo stops inside Arrábida Mountain Natural Park, celebrated for its Mediterranean climate and unique flora, with viewpoints that open up over the coastline and hills. To wrap up the day, take in panoramic views from the Fort of São Filipe, a 16th-century fortress overlooking Setúbal and the bay. On the way back to Lisbon, you’ll return via the Vasco da Gama Bridge—one of Europe’s longest bridges. Depending on time and the option selected, a stop at Palmela Castle may be added for a 360º viewpoint.
