At The Ginstitute, above The Portobello Star, settle in for a spirited 2.5-hour tutored journey through gin's colourful and often miserable past. Over cocktails, your gin instructor brings together the drink's origins, London's Gin Craze and its place in British drinking culture. It is a potted history with plenty of flavour, in a setting that belongs to the story.
Then discover what you like in your glass. In a group of no more than 12, smell and taste individual botanical distillates before choosing the flavours for your own gin. Working with pre-distilled botanicals lets you explore each ingredient separately, with your instructor helping you bring your favourites into balance.
