Snorkel through crystal-clear water and see rock formations

Drive 50 minutes from Reykjavik to reach Silfra, one of the world’s best snorkeling locations. Located in Thingvellir National Park, Silfra sits between two tectonic plates that move apart by 2 cm each year, shaping an underwater landscape.

The glacier water at Silfra filters through lava fields for decades, ensuring exceptional purity. Visibility can reach up to 100 meters (300 ft). The water, always between 2–4°C (35°F), reveals unique rock formations and freshwater algae.

Use high-quality drysuits to stay warm while floating through this environment, making it ideal for colder conditions and longer exposure. Suitable for both seasoned and first-time snorkelers, Silfra is the best place to see the underwater beauty.

Instructions

Park at parking lot P5, 3 minutes further than the meeting point
From there, walk/backtrack on foot, estimated 5 minutes walking distance to the Silfra meeting point
Note that the benches are marked with the company names
Show your smartphone ticket to the guide at the meeting point

All participants must be physically fit/well and know how to swim and feel comfortable in water
Please have a meal before the tour
Not suitable for pregnant women
All participants must fill out and sign a medical waiver
Guests aged 65 or older require a physician's approval

50kg (110 lbs) minimum, maximum 120kg (264 lbs)
