This Barcelona Gothic Quarter food tour takes you through the oldest part of the city, where Roman walls meet medieval architecture and traditional tapas share space with modern Spanish cuisine.
Throughout the experience, you'll taste 8 to 12 dishes at family-owned establishments, ranging from classic vermouth paired with premium Iberian ham to creative culinary interpretations that respect tradition while adding contemporary touches. Your local guide will share the stories behind each bite, including the cultural influences that shaped regional cooking, why Spanish omelettes inspire passionate debates across the country, and what the tradition of "hacer el vermut" truly means to locals.
Between tasting stops, you'll explore the historic Call (Jewish Quarter), walk past the remains of the Roman forum in Plaça Sant Jaume, and see the streets that have kept this neighbourhood at the heart of Barcelona's identity for centuries.
The tour includes a variety of dishes such as Spanish omelette, aubergine with honey, jamón ibérico, padrón peppers, pork delicacies, calamari or fried anchovies, seasonal salads, grilled Iberian pork or chicharrón de Cádiz, croquettes or cheese platter, and Catalan desserts. While specific offerings may vary by season and availability, you're guaranteed a satisfying array of local flavours.
