Description

Travel by coach from Barcelona to Montserrat, where you can explore the mountain monastery independently. The route climbs to 720 metres above sea level, with views across the surrounding landscape.

Itinerary

Meet at the departure point and journey towards Montserrat. On arrival, enjoy free time to discover the site at your own pace. The monastery includes monastic quarters and areas for pilgrims and visitors, and forms part of the Marian Route. After your morning visit, regroup for the return trip to Barcelona.

Practical information

The basilica houses the sculpture of the Virgin of Montserrat, known as La Moreneta. The site is also associated with the Escolania de Montserrat, one of Europe’s oldest boys’ choirs.
