Art, architecture, and countless legends take center stage on this night-time tour of Seville Cathedral. We'll explore the interior of the world's largest Gothic temple, enjoy a moonlit climb up the Giralda, and experience a stunning sound and light show.
Tour Details
At the designated time, we will commence our night tour of Seville Cathedral from the Puerta de San Cristóbal. Prepare yourself to discover the largest Gothic temple in the world! At night, its interior can be appreciated in a more serene environment, free from the usual daytime crowds.
Initially, we will embark on a 45-minute exploration of the interior of Seville Cathedral. One of the cathedral's most significant features is the tomb of Christopher Columbus. This impressive funerary monument, dating back to 1889, is filled with intricate details that we will explore together.
Throughout the tour, we will view religious paintings and sculptures from the 15th to the 19th centuries. Highlights include the figure of La Cieguecita by Juan Martínez Montañés, and the paintings El Ángel de la Guarda by Murillo and Las santas Justa y Rufina by Goya.
Moreover, we will have the opportunity to visit specific chapels that remain closed during the day, such as the Royal Chapel, the resting place of several kings of Spain, including Ferdinand III "the Saint", Alfonso X "the Wise", and Peter I of Castile.
After we admire the High Altar and tour the central nave with its main chapels, we will head to the Giralda, the cathedral’s bell tower. During this segment, which lasts approximately 15 minutes, we will ascend the ramps that lead to the summit. From this vantage point, 94 m (308 ft) above ground, we will relish some of the best views of Seville at night.
To conclude the tour, we will experience a 30-minute audiovisual show inside the cathedral. On Mondays and Fridays, this includes video mapping at various spots around the temple, while Saturdays feature projections above the High Altar. In all instances, you will witness beautiful sequences where colors and sacred works of art blend with music, creating a truly magical ambiance.
