Embark on a journey through history and experience the striking differences between the Roman Era and the Caliphate Period in the renowned Andalusian city with a day excursion to Córdoba, departing from Seville.
Córdoba & the Mosque-Cathedral
Your adventure begins at 9 am when you will be picked up at the designated meeting points in Seville before heading to the historic Caliphal capital of Córdoba.
En route, we will pause in Carmona, an enchanting white village nestled in the Seville province, before making our way to the stunning city of Córdoba, recognized as one of Spain's 15 World Heritage Sites.
As we explore the historic center of Córdoba, enjoy a guided stroll that encompasses the Roman Bridge, the old Jewish quarter, the Royal Stables, and the Synagogue (note its closure on Mondays). Along the way, take in the beauty of the vibrant courtyards of Córdoba, perfect for capturing memorable photographs.
Following our exploration of the old town, you'll have free time for lunch as per the guide's suggestions, along with an additional 30 to 45 minutes for shopping or leisurely exploration.
In the afternoon, join us for a guided visit of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. Marvel at the intricate golden mosaics and the elaborate decorations of the endless arches and the mihrab, the sacred area indicating the direction of Mecca. The stunning contrasts within will reveal why this landmark is celebrated as a crucial example of Western Islamic art.
Once the tour of the Mosque-Cathedral concludes, we will head back to the meeting points in Seville, expected to arrive around 7 pm.
Be advised that an English-speaking guide for the Mosque-Cathedral can only be confirmed if a sufficient number of participants are in the group. Otherwise, alternative language options or audio guides may be suggested by the local provider. The remainder of the tour will be conducted in English.
