During this excursion to Gibraltar, participants will have the opportunity to embark on a city sightseeing tour, explore St. Michael’s Cave, and encounter the renowned monkeys that inhabit this British overseas territory. This comprehensive journey promises to be memorable!
Options for the Day Trip
When reserving your spot, you can select from the following alternatives:
Excursion + Rock of Gibraltar
Your journey begins at the designated meeting point in Málaga, from where we will head south towards La Línea de la Concepción. As we drive along the scenic Costa del Sol, the guide will share intriguing historical insights and anecdotes regarding life in Gibraltar.
Upon entering this British territory, we will divide into smaller groups to embark on a panoramic tour of the Rock of Gibraltar. For approximately an hour and a half, we will traverse the Natural Reserve via minibus, stopping at observation points such as Europa Point, where you can catch sight of both Africa and Europe in a single view!
Our exploration includes a visit inside St. Michael’s Cave, a limestone cavern steeped in local folklore. A trip to the Rock wouldn't be complete without visiting the monkeys’ den, where you'll meet the famous Barbary macaques of Gibraltar.
Afterward, we’ll head to the city center, allowing you some time to wander the streets and grab lunch. Are you craving traditional fish and chips? Interested in shopping on Main Street? Or perhaps you'd like to take photos in front of the beloved British phone booths? This is your chance.
We will then reconvene and complete our day with a return journey, arriving back at the starting point after a total of 9 hours.
Excursion + Dolphin Watching
Choosing this option means that after reaching Gibraltar, we will board a boat for an exciting dolphin-watching tour. We will navigate through the Strait of Gibraltar, on the lookout for these playful creatures in their natural environment. Fun fact: this region is designated as a World Biosphere Reserve.
This boat journey lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Following this experience, you will enjoy time ashore to explore Gibraltar independently. This is a fantastic time to sample British cuisine like fish and chips and continue your tour of the city.
Delve into this English-flavored locale situated in the Iberian Peninsula, with opportunities to visit Casemates Square, take in the views of the Rock of Gibraltar from Marina Bay, or shop along Main Street.
After a total of 9 hours, we’ll return to your original departure point.
It’s important to note that if you opt for the dolphin-watching experience, the guided tour of Gibraltar outlined in the first option is excluded.
Self-Guided Excursion
Alternatively, while booking, you can select the self-guided experience. In this case, upon reaching Gibraltar, you will have five hours to explore the city at your leisure. We will reconvene at the arranged time to return to the starting point within a timeframe of nine to eleven hours.
Schedule for the Day Trip
The times listed on the website are approximate. Your booking confirmation will include the precise pickup time at the meeting point.
Important Additional Information
Regarding the free time to explore the city on your own, should you choose one of the guided options, the duration of your free time will vary according to the chosen alternative. Both options provide free time, although at different intervals throughout the day.
