Embark on an unforgettable day trip to the Caminito del Rey, where you will explore one of the most notable natural wonders in the province of Malaga. The stunning beauty of the gorge awaits you!
Trip Overview
We will convene at the specified meeting point in Malaga city at the scheduled time. Our journey will lead us to one of the most breathtaking gorges in the area. Prepare to uncover the scenic vistas of the Caminito del Rey!
As we travel, we will traverse the Alcaparaín mountain range, characterized by vast orange groves and charming white villages typical of Andalusia. Along the route, we will pause at a strategic site, providing an ideal opportunity to refresh yourself or grab a quick snack.
Following this break, we will embark on a hike along the Caminito del Rey starting from the northern access in Ardales. This hike features a remarkable footbridge, which was inaugurated in 1925 by King Alfonso XIII. Throughout this journey, marvel at the views of the Guadalhorce reservoir and navigate down the iconic staircase of the Caminito del Rey.
During our exploration, we will gradually uncover the incredible geology, diverse wildlife, and stunning scenery surrounding us. The footbridge, elevated nearly 105 meters (344 feet) above the Gaitanes Gorge, presents an opportunity for breathtaking panoramic shots of the Sierra de Málaga. Don’t forget to capture these moments! We will also make stops at the most notable viewpoints to snap photos and learn intriguing facts about the locale.
After fully experiencing the wonders of the Caminito del Rey, we will bid farewell to this enchanting area and make our way back to the starting point, culminating this day-long adventure lasting between 7 and 8 hours.
