Half-Day Excursion to Versailles from Paris
At the scheduled time, we will set off from a location near the Eiffel Tower, arriving at Versailles approximately 45 minutes later by bus. This city served as the unofficial capital of France during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
Upon arrival, you will join a guided exploration of the Palace of Versailles, where we will enjoy direct access without waiting in ticket lines. This tour includes visits to several opulent rooms within the palace, including the Grand Apartments of the King and Queen.
We will also take a moment to appreciate the Hall of Mirrors, notable for being the venue where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, marking the conclusion of the First World War.
After the guided exploration, which lasts about 1.5 hours, you will have leisure time to wander through the enchanting gardens of Versailles. Spanning over 800 hectares (1,976 acres), the gardens are adorned with a variety of trees, plants, statues, and ponds. On select days, you may witness the fountains in operation, adding to the park's beauty.
Ultimately, we will return to the initial meeting point in Paris, estimated to arrive between 4 and 9 hours after the departure, depending on the option selected during the booking process.
Available Options for the Tour
When securing your half-day trip to Versailles, you may select between two distinct options, both including entry to the palace.
6-Hour Excursion
This choice is perfect for those seeking a seamless experience. It encompasses round-trip transport from central Paris, entrance to the Palace of Versailles, and guidance from an English-speaking expert during the palace tour.
9-Hour Excursion
This option caters to those eager to experience everything Versailles has to offer. Along with transport and a guided tour of the primary palace, this option provides priority access to both the Grand Trianon and the Petit Trianon, the French monarchy's cherished retreats.
Skip-the-Line Benefits
A significant advantage of this tour is the inclusion of skip-the-line entry. Accompanied by a licensed guide, we will use the group entrance, optimizing your visit. Please be aware that, for security purposes, all guests must undergo metal detector screening at the entry points.
Tour Duration
- The duration of the guided exploration of the Palace of Versailles will consistently be 1.5 hours.
- However, for morning departures, you will enjoy a longer period to explore the gardens.
- Additionally, choosing the 9-hour tour option allows for a complimentary visit to both the small and large Trianon palaces, situated at the rear of the Palace of Versailles gardens.
