For enthusiasts of history, this excursion to Mont-Saint-Michel from Paris is an unmissable opportunity. The trip also includes a visit to Omaha Beach, a pivotal site in the Normandy landings.
Details of the Trip
Our meeting point is at the entrance of the Hotel Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile. From this central location in Paris, we will board a bus that will take us to the region of Normandy.
Along the way, we’ll make a short stop, allowing us to stretch before continuing our journey. After approximately 3.5 hours, we will arrive at Omaha Beach, one of the key locations of the Normandy landings. Here, a guided tour of about 1.5 hours will provide insights into the significant historical events that unfolded on the beach on June 6, 1944.
You will learn about the Allied landings as we explore the memorials that pay tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives during this crucial moment in World War II. Additionally, we’ll reflect on notable films that depict these historic events.
Following our time at Omaha Beach, we will proceed along the scenic coast of Normandy towards Mont-Saint-Michel. Depending on the tides, this charming village functions as either an island or a peninsula. Upon arrival, you’ll have approximately 2 hours of leisure to enjoy lunch and wander through the quaint streets at your own pace.
If you have selected the tour option that includes access to Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, you can explore this medieval architectural masterpiece. You’ll be captivated by the harmonious blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. This option allows you to visit the refectory, chapel, cloister, and various rooms within the abbey, which is recognized as one of the most frequented monuments in France.
As the day concludes, we will embark on our return journey from Mont-Saint-Michel back to the meeting point in Paris, wrapping up this enriching 15-hour excursion.
The meeting point may vary. Always check the tickets we sent you to confirm the final details before the activity.
