- Guided tours in Florence and Pisa
If you're wondering whether a day trip to Pisa from Rome is worthwhile, the answer is yes. This activity allows you to see the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio and take the famous photo next to the Leaning Tower.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet outside the exit of the Tiburtina station, where we'll hop on a bus to the Italian region of Tuscany.
After approximately a 4-hour journey, we'll reach our first stop, Pisa. You'll have free time to visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, a World Heritage Site, home to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This construction is important in Tuscan Romanesque architecture. It leaned 1 mm more each year until 1990 when stabilization work was done.
You will learn about this and other historic facts regarding the tower, a famous structure worldwide. After taking the obligatory photo, you'll have free time to explore the square and view the Baptistery of St. John and the Fallen Angel by Igor Mitoraj.
Next, we'll head to Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. You can explore the city at your leisure and visit main monuments including the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Piazza della Repubblica, and the Palazzo Strozzi.
Don't forget to cross the Ponte Vecchio and enjoy the view over the Arno River. You'll have free time for lunch; we recommend the typical panino with lampredotto.
After an incredible day, we'll return by bus to the Italian capital, dropping you off at the meeting point after 14 hours.
