- Guided tours in Florence and Pisa
If you are contemplating the value of a day trip from Rome to Pisa, the response is affirmative. This excursion presents the opportunity to admire the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio, along with capturing that iconic photo by the Leaning Tower.
Day Trip Overview
We will assemble at the specified time outside the exit of Tiburtina station, where we will board a bus heading towards the enchanting region of Tuscany.
After a journey of approximately four hours, our first destination will be Pisa. Upon arrival, you will enjoy free time to explore the Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that hosts the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This famous structure is a masterpiece of Tuscan Romanesque architecture, which, until 1990 when stabilization work commenced, tilted 1 mm more each year.
During your visit, you will discover intriguing historical insights regarding this renowned bell tower, recognized as one of the most celebrated towers globally. After securing the quintessential photo of you holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa, take some time to wander the square and appreciate the Baptistery of St. John and the sculpture Fallen Angel by Igor Mitoraj.
Subsequently, we will proceed to Florence, the cradle of the Italian Renaissance. This city is rich in art and history, offering you the chance to leisurely explore its significant landmarks. Highlights include the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its stunning dome, the Piazza della Repubblica, and the Palazzo Strozzi.
Be sure to stroll across the Ponte Vecchio and marvel at its striking outline over the Arno River! You will also have the opportunity to enjoy lunch independently. We suggest sampling a panino with lampredotto, a traditional Florentine sandwich.
After an amazing day, we will return to Rome, concluding our trip as we drop you off at the initial meeting point after roughly 14 hours.
