Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Roma Tiburtina Railway Station to begin the day trip to Assisi, Orvieto, and Civita di Bagnoregio.
After a 3-hour journey with a quick stop, we will arrive in Assisi, the birthplace of Saint Francis of Assisi, an important spiritual center. Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore its medieval streets, including the famous Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Piazza del Comune.
Next, we will head to Civita di Bagnoregio, known as the Dying City due to erosion. We will take a minibus to the panoramic bridge, offering spectacular views. You will have time to stroll its cobbled streets and enjoy the atmosphere.
After leaving Civita di Bagnoregio, we will proceed to Orvieto, another medieval town on a cliff of volcanic rock. During the bus ride, we will discuss its history and main monuments before granting free time to explore. The Orvieto Cathedral, a masterpiece of Italian Gothic architecture, is a major attraction. You may also visit local craft shops and try Orvieto Classico wine.
Following our time in Orvieto, we will return to Rome, arriving approximately 14 hours after departure.
