Tour Overview
Day 1: Journey from Rome to Pompeii and Sorrento
Your adventure begins with a pickup at your hotel in Rome. We will embark on the Autostrada del Sole, traveling southward through the picturesque Roman countryside and the Castelli Romani region. Here, we’ll pass by the historic Montecassino Abbey, a significant site from World War II.
Our first stop is Pompeii, where, upon arrival, we’ll take advantage of our priority access to embark on a guided exploration of the ancient ruins. This site will transport us back to the era of Ancient Rome. We will visit the Forum, once the city’s political and social heart, now surrounded by the remaining structures that highlight its former prestige.
Among the highlights, we’ll see the House of the Faun, renowned for its exquisite mosaic of Alexander the Great, and the House of the Vettii, where stunning frescoes transport us into mythological narratives filled with captivating imagery.
Following our visit, we’ll continue towards the enchanting coast of Sorrento, where spectacular sea views and Mediterranean allure await. After checking in to our hotel, we can enjoy a delicious dinner and rest for the night. We look forward to tomorrow's adventures!
Day 2: Sorrento and Capri Island
After a fulfilling breakfast, we'll board a boat to Capri, arriving at the iconic Marina Grande. If weather conditions allow, our first experience will be at the mesmerizing Blue Grotto, a sea cave known for its brilliant blue illumination, created by sunlight filtering through the water.
Next, we will explore Capri Town, the island’s vibrant center, where you can take some time to wander, visit the beloved Piazzetta, shop for local crafts, and capture memorable photographs.
Later, we will return to Sorrento for a delightful dinner at the hotel, concluding another wonderful day.
Day 3: Leisure in Sorrento and Return to Rome
After breakfast, enjoy some free time in Sorrento to discover this lovely town at your own pace.
Begin your exploration at Piazza Tasso, the lively heart of Sorrento, lined with eateries, cafés, and elegant neoclassical architecture. Be sure to visit the Chiostro di San Francesco, a tranquil courtyard featuring intertwining arches and splendid sea views, ideal for embracing the charm of the Amalfi Coast. To the west, you can explore Marina di Puolo, a quaint fishing area where charming pastel homes meet the deep blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. It’s truly captivating!
In the afternoon, we’ll make our way back to Rome, arriving around 8 PM either at the city center or close to your hotel, depending on your preference.
Important Note: Low Season
During the months of November to March, please be aware that on the second day we will not visit Capri. Instead, you will have the entire day to explore Sorrento independently.
Additionally, it's worth noting that many hotels in Sorrento close during the winter months (particularly in January and February). Thus, accommodations during this time are typically in a standard 3-star hotel.
