If you're interested in wine tourism, immerse yourself in the enchanting regions of Sintra and Cascais during this day excursion from Lisbon. Experience local viticulture with a wine tasting of Portuguese selections at a distinguished winery.
Details of the Day Trip
The adventure begins at Rúa da Conceição, numbers 23-25. From this central Lisbon location, we'll embark on a journey to uncover two of Portugal's treasured locales.
After about an hour of travel, we will arrive at Sintra. Our first stop will be the exquisite gardens of the Palace of Pena. While entering the royal residence isn’t on the agenda, its stunning pastel-hued exterior is sure to captivate. This site is renowned and has earned the title of World Heritage Site.
Following our exterior exploration, which includes visits to the Caminho de Ronda, the breathtaking Triton Portico, and various scenic viewpoints, we will proceed to the town center. Here, a short guided tour of Sintra's historic area will introduce you to significant landmarks, including the National Palace of Sintra, the Clock Tower, and St. Martin Church.
You'll then enjoy 2 hours of leisure time to savor a meal in Sintra's town center. After lunch, our next destination will be the Regional de Colares Winery, where a 45-minute tour will immerse you in the winemaking process. To cap off this visit, indulge in a tasting of three exquisite Portuguese wines. Cheers to a delightful experience!
Post-tasting, we’ll proceed to the Cabo da Roca Lookout. This vantage point offers you the opportunity to capture memorable photographs at the westernmost point of mainland Europe. After soaking in the sights, we’ll explore the beloved town of Cascais on a guided tour.
As we stroll through this popular destination, you’ll see its important monuments from the exterior, including the Palacete Seixas and the Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora da Luz de Cascais. After the tour, enjoy approximately 20 minutes of free time in central Cascais for shopping or to relax with a drink.
Finally, if the weather permits, we will visit Boca do Inferno, known as Hell's Mouth. From these coastal cliffs, we shall commence our return journey to Lisbon, concluding our 9-hour excursion at Praça Martim Moniz.
