Trip Overview
Day 1: Paris - Rouen - Honfleur - Normandy Beaches - Caen
The adventure begins at 18 Avenue de Suffren in Paris at the scheduled departure time. After around two hours of travel, we will pause for a guided exploration of Rouen. Witness the Gros Horloge, an astronomical clock shrouded in enigmas, alongside the stunning Gothic Cathedral, famously captured in works by Impressionist painter Claude Monet. Continuing our journey towards the Seine River's mouth, take in the sights of the Pont de Normandie suspension bridge, notable for being among Europe's longest. Upon reaching Honfleur, enjoy some leisure time for lunch at a local restaurant and a pleasant stroll around the Port, surrounded by charmingly colored houses.
In the afternoon, you'll discover the Beaches of Normandy, a significant location in French history and the scene of numerous World War II films like “Saving Private Ryan.” Explore the American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer and visit Arromanches beach, where an artificial port was constructed by the Allies. The day concludes in Caen, where you will spend the night at a 3-star hotel and savor a delightful dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Caen - Saint Malo - Mont Saint Michel - Angers
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, the coach will travel south towards Saint-Malo. Accompany the guide for a tour along the city walls overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and learn about its historical landmarks, such as the Cathedral and the National Fort, famed for its pirate battles. You’ll then have time to discover the city at your own pace and have lunch before departing for Mont Saint Michel.
Mont Saint Michel, a picturesque rocky island with charming cobblestone streets, is home to the stunning Benedictine Abbey perched atop. Guided by your tour leader, wander through its quaint paths and uncover legendary tales linked to this medieval pilgrimage destination, which have inspired countless filmmakers and authors. Following your visit to Saint-Michel, board the coach for the journey to Angers. The dinner on this evening is at your own expense.
Be aware that on 1 May, 8 May, 29 May, and 14 August, the arrival at the hotel in Angers may be later than expected. A stop will be made en route for dinner options.
Day 3: Angers - Chenonceau - Chambord - Paris
From Angers, we’ll proceed towards the Château de Chenonceau, where you can enjoy free time for lunch before embarking on a guided tour of this iconic castle. Its arches span the Cher River, making it one of France's most frequented monuments.
The next destination is Château de Chambord, where you will participate in a guided visit to learn about its renowned double helix staircase, a masterpiece attributed to the brilliant Leonardo da Vinci.
After our exploration of this magnificent castle, we will return to our departure point in Paris, aiming to arrive back in the city around 9 PM.
