Are you searching for activities near Lisbon? This day excursion will take you to the renowned Cabo da Roca and Sintra, where you may explore the Quinta da Regaleira or the Palacio da Pena at your discretion.
Trip Overview
We will gather at the Praça de Dom Pedro IV, a central meeting point in Lisbon, before heading west toward the coastline.
During our journey, you will experience the stunning vistas of Estoril, Cascais, and Praia do Guincho. After approximately an hour, we will arrive at the iconic Cabo da Roca. Here lies the westernmost point of continental Europe. We will pause for 30 minutes to explore its historical significance and take in the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Afterwards, we will continue our drive towards Sintra, which will take around 30 minutes. Upon arrival, a guided tour of 30 minutes will be provided, showcasing the key monuments and attractions of this enchanting town, recognized as a World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape.
Upon completing our tour of the historic center, the entire rest of the day is yours to enjoy in Sintra. You can wander through its picturesque streets, savor local delicacies, and visit its key sites at your own leisure. Among these, the Palacio da Pena stands out as the most famous, a former royal residence notable for its vibrant facade, adorned in shades of yellow, red, and orange, creating a dreamlike appearance.
Another essential visit is the Quinta da Regaleira. Constructed at the close of the 19th century by António Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro, this distinctive palace is well-known for its Initiation Well, which is steeped in numerous legends. Eventually, we will reconvene to head back to the meeting point in Lisbon, concluding this 11-hour adventure.
