The New York City Tour Bus offers a convenient way to navigate the city. The two-story, open-top buses allow visits to main places of interest.

With a total of 18 stops, there are 2 routes to explore Midtown, Uptown, and Downtown, connecting at Times Square. Key sights include Chinatown, Wall Street, The Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Madison Square Garden, Little Italy, and the Statue of Liberty.

How it Works

Tickets are valid for their respective durations; for instance, a 24-hour ticket used first on Monday at 11 am is valid until the next day at 11 am. You can hop on and off the bus as desired during this time.

The 1-day ticket is valid until the end of that day, with no further use the next day.

For the Empire State Building ticket option, you'll choose a time to enter the building after exchanging your ticket for the sightseeing bus.

Operating Hours & Frequency

Red Line (Downtown Tour): 12 stops, runs every 15 minutes from 9 am to 5 pm daily, with a route duration of about 1.5 hours.
Blue Line (Uptown Tour): 7 stops, runs every 30 minutes from 10 am to 4 pm daily, with a route duration of about 1.5 hours.

Operating hours and frequency

Red Line (Downtown Tour): this line has 12 stops, and runs every 15 minutes from 9 am to 5 pm daily. The entire route takes around an hour and a half.
Blue Line (Uptown Tour): this line has 7 stops and runs every half hour from 10 am to 4 pm daily. The entire route takes around an hour and a half.

How to Use the Empire State Building Observatory Ticket

If you book the Empire State Building Observatory ticket option, once you redeem your ticket for the sightseeing bus, you must select a time to visit the building. At that time, you will be given your official ticket. Please keep in mind that the waiting time at the Empire State Building may vary.

Hudson River Cruise

If you have chosen the option that includes the cruise, you will need to select a departure time once you redeem your hop-on hop-off bus ticket. You will receive your official cruise entry at that time. Alternatively, you can book your time slot in advance through the Big Bus website: https://www.bigbustours.com/manage-my-booking.

Location: Cruises depart daily from Circle Line Cruises at Pier 83, 42nd Street, in Hudson River Park.
Bus Stop: This corresponds to Big Bus Stop #12 (Circle Line Sightseeing).
Arrival: We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your departure time, as seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
