Day Trip to Washington DC & Philadelphia
Our journey begins at 5 am, meeting outside the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square. Once aboard our comfortable, climate-controlled bus, we will traverse towards the U.S. capital. Following a 5-hour drive, we will take a brief stop for breakfast and stretching, before we arrive in Washington DC to embark on our day tour, showcasing the city’s most iconic sites.
The first stop will be the renowned Iwo Jima Memorial, a striking statue commemorating the valiant soldiers who raised the American flag. This will be followed by a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, honoring the president instrumental in ending slavery in the nation. We will also pause at the significant memorials dedicated to the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
The next highlight is the White House, which we will view from the exterior while our knowledgeable guide shares insights into its rich history. Following this, we'll proceed to the Capitol, a pivotal location for decision-making that has repercussions far beyond the country's borders.
After our exploration of Washington's key attractions, participants will have an hour of leisure time to dine at a restaurant of their choice. Once lunch is over, we will regroup and embark on our journey from the current capital to the historical heart of the nation – Philadelphia, which served as the original capital following the Revolutionary War.
Our Philadelphia tour will commence with an exterior view of two iconic symbols: the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the site where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed. Following this, we'll visit the famous Rocky's Stairs, located at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Challenge yourself by climbing the 72 steps just like Rocky did!
We will kick off our return to New York at 6:30 pm, arriving back in Times Square around 8:30 pm.
