On this half-day tour you will get to visit the Benedictine Abbey, the throne of the Black Madonna, the Basilica and then head high into the mountain to better understand the story behind this awe-inspiring site, observe some of the local flora and fauna, and enjoy some of the most mesmerising and spectacular views you'll get to see whilst in Barcelona.
Upon leaving Barcelona you will head west towards the heartland of Catalonia, the mountain of Montserrat. You will be able to appreciate this magnificent mountain from all sides.
Once there, we will first visit the Monastery (established in 1025) and its Basilica, and have the opportunity to see the revered statue of the Black Madonna (Moreneta), patroness of Catalonia.
You will then head up into the mountain on the funicular to discover this incredible landscape and find out about this magnificent geological formation, home to some surprising species of flora and fauna.
You will get countless opportunities to take spectacular pictures and explore this unique mountain before heading back to the monastery where you will have some free time before our drive back to Barcelona.
You will be dropped off in a central location to continue exploring the city of Barcelona.
