From Palermo: Cefalù Authentic Food & Wine Tour

This tour is your "perfect morning" for an authentic immersion in flavors, stories, and the true local atmosphere. A complete sensory experience, you will discover the soul of a place that has jealously guarded its roots, use local transportation that will give you the chance to experience a day like a local, and taste authentic food made according to traditional recipes.

At the meeting point at Palermo Central Station, you will find the tour guide who will be happy to help you purchase train tickets if you do not already have them. The train journey will take about 50 minutes.

Once we arrive in Cefalù, our adventure will begin. In just a few minutes, we will find ourselves a stone's throw from the sea, in a small grocery store that is a true temple of 100% Sicilian flavors. We will be welcomed by a delicious mix of appetizers: marinated sardines, smoked cherry tomatoes, an irresistible selection of cheeses and cold cuts, and much more.

A walk along the seafront will take us to the historic center, where we will reach a small square characteristic of the area, where you will experience a moment like a true local. Enjoy an aperitif with prosecco and a selection of bruschetta, sitting on the steps of a small church dating back to the 1400s.

We will continue our tour of the historic center (Arab-Norman Cathedral, the Bastion, the Old Marina, Porta Pescara, and the Medieval Wash House, etc.), losing ourselves in the ancient alleys and breathtaking views, walking along a path created inside the cliff that runs alongside the citadel.

Finally, it will be time for an authentic and simple family lunch in a trattoria. Our promise is clear: we will offer you only what the locals really eat, the authentic flavors that are part of everyday life.

We will start with traditional Cefalù appetizers: sardine meatballs, caponata, sweet and sour pumpkin, fresh ricotta, and cod croquettes. But the real highlight will be the tasting of our signature dishes: the legendary Pasta a Taianu, a unique delicacy that you will only find here, and the classic Pasta con le Sarde, cooked according to the ancient recipes of the fishermen's wives, who are able to transform simple ingredients into masterpieces. Each course will be enhanced by a pairing with excellent house wines.

As tradition and our grandparents dictate, a good lunch should be concluded with homemade biscuits "dipped" in a sweet fortified wine. This "sweet" farewell will take place in a truly magical location: a small balcony overlooking the sea, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the picturesque old pier of Cefalù.
