Rising directly behind the palace are the Boboli Gardens, the centuries-old green expanse that defined the Italian garden style copied by royal courts across Europe, dotted with grottoes, fountains, and statue-lined avenues.
With the combined ticket, get access to the Boboli Gardens, originally designed for the Medici Family, representing the earliest examples of Italian gardens. Admire the open-air museum with antique Renaissance statues, grottoes, and large fountains. This vast, formally arranged green space is an open-air museum of ancient and Renaissance statues, grottoes — most famously the grotto by Bernardo Buontalenti — and grand fountains such as the Fountain of Neptune and the Fountain of the Ocean. The grounds also hold the 18th-century Kaffeehaus, a rare example of Rococo architecture in Tuscany, and the Lemon House built in 1777–78.

- Boboli Garden is currently undergoing a multi-year restoration project, part of the Boboli 2030 Masterplan. Ongoing works may lead to some areas being screened off, include the restoration of the Amphitheatre, fountains (Neptune Basin, Island Basin), and upgrading infrastructure.
