Experience a day full of history and tradition, discover the most iconic sites of American independence, and get up close to the simple and authentic life of the Amish in Lancaster.
Start an unforgettable day by leaving New York early in the morning for Philadelphia, the city where American independence was born. Along the way, we'll make a brief stop for breakfast and to recharge before embarking on this fascinating historical and cultural adventure.
Our first stop will be in Philadelphia's Historic Center, where you will go back in time to relive the most important moments in American history. You'll admire the Liberty Bell, an eternal symbol of freedom and justice, and visit Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. We will also see iconic sites such as Carpenters' Hall, the First Bank of the United States, and the site of the home of Benjamin Franklin, one of the most influential Founding Fathers.
We'll continue to the picturesque Betsy Ross House, where the first American flag is said to have been sewn, and then we'll stroll through Elfreth's Alley, considered the oldest residential street in the country, with its charming colonial atmosphere that seems frozen in time.
Afterwards, we'll head to the famous LOVE Park, ideal for taking photos next to the iconic LOVE sign and admiring the impressive Philadelphia City Hall, a 19th-century architectural jewel. We'll continue along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, known as the Avenue of Flags, until we reach the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where you can run up the famous Rocky Steps and take a photo next to the statue of Rocky, a symbol of perseverance and triumph.
After exploring Philadelphia, we'll head to Lancaster County, home to the traditional Amish community. Here you'll have a unique experience learning about their simple and self-sufficient lifestyle, far from modern technology. You'll visit an authentic Amish farm, where you can learn about their customs, their relationship with the land, and their traditional farming methods. You'll also have the opportunity to interact with them, feed the animals, and purchase local handicrafts and handmade products, from jams to fabrics and wooden toys.
Before returning to New York, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch with a wide variety of dishes, the perfect ending to a day full of culture, history, and unique traditions.
This excursion combines the best of both worlds: the historical energy of Philadelphia and the serenity of the Amish countryside. It's a perfect experience for those who want to discover the essence of the United States in a single day, traveling from the hustle and bustle of the city to the peace of the countryside on a tour that's as educational as it is unforgettable.
