Travel north from Glasgow through the rolling Scottish countryside to the historic city of Stirling, a land shaped by ancient invasions and the Wars of Scottish Independence. Dominating the skyline is the magnificent Stirling Castle, dramatically perched atop a volcanic crag and long regarded as the "Key to Scotland". You’ll have the opportunity to visit the castle and uncover the stories of Scotland’s kings, queens, and legendary battles. While castle admission is optional, it is highly recommended for those who want to fully immerse themselves in Scotland’s rich history.
From Stirling, journey into the heart of the Highlands and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, a landscape of sparkling lochs, forested glens, and rugged mountain peaks. This region was once the hideout of Scotland’s famous outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor, and your guide will bring his fascinating story to life as you travel through this spectacular scenery.
Following a lunch stop in the picturesque village of Aberfoyle, continue to the shores of Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest loch by surface area. Here, you can choose to join an optional one-hour scenic cruise, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains, islands, and wildlife while learning about the loch’s history and folklore. Although the cruise is optional, it is highly recommended as one of the best ways to experience the scale, beauty, and character of Loch Lomond. Alternatively, you can spend your free time exploring the lochside at your own pace.
After enjoying the natural beauty of Loch Lomond, sit back and relax on the return journey to Glasgow, taking with you unforgettable memories of Scotland’s history, landscapes, and legends.
