AI Trip Planner: plan your whole trip in minutes

Tell the AI travel planner where you are going and get a day-by-day itinerary of real activities — museums and tickets, food, day trips, guided tours, viewpoints — each with what it costs today, when it opens and how long it takes.

  • Every kind of activity, not one category
  • Current prices and opening times, not guesses
  • Answers back while you are already there

Plan my trip

Step 1 of 6

Where are you going?

A city, a region or a country — whatever you have decided so far.

When are you travelling?

Exact dates help, but a rough month is enough to start.

Who is travelling?

This changes the pace, the walking distances and the kind of activities.

What do you want to do there?

Pick as many as you like.

What is your budget like?

Used to pick activities and neighbourhoods, not to filter you out.

How full do you want each day?

Last question. Then you get your plan.

Building your plan…

A few seconds. Kiara is doing the boring part.

Your trip brief is ready

Send it to Kiara, our AI travel agent on WhatsApp, and she builds the day-by-day plan.

How the AI trip planner works

An AI travel planner is only as good as what you tell it. That is why this one asks first and writes second: your answers become a brief, and the brief becomes an itinerary you can change.

You answer six questions

Destination, dates, who is coming, what you like, budget and pace. It takes about a minute, and no account is needed.

AI builds the day-by-day plan

Kiara reads the brief and drafts a plan per day, with sensible walking distances, opening times in mind and activities that match the group.

You change what you want

Ask for a slower morning, a rainy-day option or a cheaper dinner and the plan is rewritten. When something fits, you book it on GuruWalk.

What a travel itinerary looks like

Two briefs, two plans. Times, prices and opening hours included, because a plan you have to re-check is not a plan — and every activity is a link to its own page.

Your AI travel agent, before and during the trip

Kiara is a travel bot you talk to in plain language, in the chat app you already have open. She keeps the context of your trip, so “make Tuesday lighter” or “we changed hotels, redo the afternoon” is enough — you do not restate the whole plan.

Planning is only half of it. Most travel questions arrive once you are already there: it started raining, the museum queue is 90 minutes long, you have three hours before the airport, the kids are done walking. Kiara answers those with what is open right now, what it costs and how far it is — so the plan survives contact with the actual day.

She books through GuruWalk's marketplace of local guides and activities, and can also point you at what she does not sell. Tapping into WhatsApp is optional: the planner above works on its own, and the same assistant runs inside ChatGPT and Claude.

Plan your trip with ChatGPT or Claude

If you already plan trips in an AI assistant, add GuruWalk to it. The assistant then searches real availability and real activities instead of guessing what exists.

ChatGPT travel planner

GuruWalk in ChatGPT

Add the GuruWalk app in ChatGPT, then ask for a plan the way you would ask a person. ChatGPT calls GuruWalk for the activities, dates and prices, and writes the itinerary around them.

“Add GuruWalk. I have four days in Prague in November with my brother. Build a day-by-day plan with what each thing costs, and keep the walking under 8 km a day.”

Claude travel planning

GuruWalk in Claude

Connect GuruWalk in Claude and the same catalogue is available there. Useful when you are already writing the trip notes, the budget or the packing list in the same conversation.

“Using the GuruWalk connector, compare two versions of a five-day Andalusia trip: one based in Seville, one split between Seville and Granada. Include what we would do each day and what it costs.”

One place to organise a trip, not five tabs

Most trip planning happens across a notes app, a map, three blog posts and a booking site, and then nobody remembers which version is current. A travel organiser only helps if it holds the whole thing: what you are doing each day, in what order, what it costs and what is already booked.

That is the job here. The planner writes the days, the chat keeps the changes, and GuruWalk holds the bookings. Ask for the plan as a list you can copy into your own notes, or as a message you can forward to whoever you are travelling with.

It works the same for a vacation planner question (“two weeks in Portugal in August, two adults, one car”) and for a single free weekend in a city you already know.

AI trip planner FAQ

Is there a free AI to make a travel itinerary?

Yes. GuruWalk's AI trip planner builds a day-by-day travel itinerary for free, with no account and no credit card. You answer six questions — destination, dates, who is travelling, interests, budget and pace — and the plan comes back with times, ticket prices and opening hours. You only pay if you book a paid activity; free walking tours on GuruWalk are pay-what-you-want, decided at the end of the tour.

What is the best AI for travel planning?

The two kinds on offer are good at different things. A general assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude handles open questions and long conversations well, but answers from training data, so it can state an opening time that changed or suggest a tour that no longer runs. A travel-specific planner such as GuruWalk's queries a live activity catalogue, so what it proposes exists and can be booked on your dates. GuruWalk covers both routes: the planner on this page, and a connector you add to ChatGPT or Claude so the same catalogue is available inside them.

Can I use ChatGPT to plan a trip?

Yes, and it writes a reasonable first draft. Its weak point is verifiable detail: which day a museum closes, what a ticket costs now, whether a tour actually runs on a Tuesday in February. Adding the GuruWalk app to ChatGPT closes that gap for activities, because ChatGPT then reads GuruWalk's live catalogue instead of relying on what it memorised. Adding it is free and takes a couple of clicks from chatgpt.com.

Does this AI travel planner need a credit card?

No. Planning with GuruWalk's AI trip planner is free and asks for no card and no account. Booking a free walking tour on GuruWalk takes no card either: you reserve a place and decide at the end of the tour what the guide's work was worth to you. Paid activities — museum tickets, food tours, day trips — are paid normally when you book them.

Does it work on a laptop, or only on WhatsApp?

Both. GuruWalk's questionnaire runs in any browser, on a laptop or a phone, with nothing to install. When you finish it you can continue in WhatsApp, scan the QR code shown on screen to open that same conversation on your phone with your brief already written, or switch to ChatGPT or Claude using the GuruWalk connector. WhatsApp is one route to the assistant, not a requirement.

Travel planner or travel agent — what is the difference?

A travel agent books the trip for you and takes responsibility for it, usually charging a fee or earning commission from the suppliers they book. A travel planner builds the itinerary and leaves the booking in your hands, so no commission is steering what it recommends. GuruWalk's AI trip planner is a planner: it drafts the days, prices them and hands you the links, and nobody calls you back to upsell an upgrade.

What can the itinerary generator not do yet?

It does not book flights or accommodation, and it cannot move bookings you made somewhere else. GuruWalk's AI trip planner covers what you do once you are in a place: guided tours, museums, food, day trips and the order to do them in, with prices and opening times. It also answers questions while you are already travelling — rain, a closure, three spare hours before a flight. Flights and lodging are on the roadmap, not in the product today.
