Ursprünglich aus Großbritannien und jetzt in Berlin ansässig, bin ich Doktorand und untersuche im Rahmen meiner Dissertation Konzepte technologischer Authentizität in der modernen elektronischen Tanzmusik. In meiner Freizeit bin ich außerdem als DJ und Produzent tätig.
Had a fantastic stroll through various Berlin neighbourhoods with our very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Given all of the changes since the early 90s, Newly-minted Doctor Jon (this man recently received his PhD in techno!) did a great job recreating what the different neighbourhoods and club locations/scenes must have looked and felt like at a quite a time of upheaval and transition (politically, culturally and musically). We could tell that Jonathan put his heart and soul (and countless hours of research) into this splendid history lesson. Bonus: He didn't mind going a full hour over schedule. What great quality and great value :)
"Slumberland" was the original location of "Dschungel".
Dr. Jonathan is very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in music history.
