I had an amazing walking tour in Nîmes with Diego, and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s an Argentine guide who truly loves the city, and that passion makes the whole experience richer and more memorable. Listening to him explain the layers of history in Spanish was a delight, especially because he makes everything so clear and engaging. Nîmes is already beautiful at first glance, but Diego helps you understand how the Roman past shaped the city in ways you wouldn’t notice on your own. The highlight for me was visiting the Maison Carrée. Standing in front of the best-preserved Roman temple in the world is surreal, and Diego’s explanations made the experience even more meaningful. He shared the history of how the building survived through the centuries by constantly being used – as a church, a city hall, an archive – which unintentionally protected its original structure. It was fascinating. I left the tour with that wonderful feeling you get when architecture and history suddenly click into place. Diego brings the city to life with his knowledge, storytelling, and enthusiasm. If you’re visiting the south of France, I highly recommend booking a tour with him. He truly elevates the experience.
