Namaste y ¡hola! Soy Sanjay, un orgulloso habitante de Mumbai con una conexión especial con el sur de Goa, que se siente como mi segundo hogar. Sanjay gave us a memorable walking tour across Bandra. He was good with his knowledge as well. We came to know about the hidden past of Bandra, which was a fulfilling experience for us.
‘I kindly request you to avoid last-minute cancellations after booking the tour. I conduct the tour even if there is only one guest. When guests cancel at the last moment or fail to show up, it can be very disappointing for guides like us who are dedicated to making your experience special’ The above is stated on the guruwalks website. I received a call from the guide, Sanjay, an hour before it was due to start, to tell me that the Bandra tour had been cancelled due to a previous one over-running. As well as this completely disrupting my evening, my Uber had already been booked and was pulling up (I had left an hour to get to Bandra as am staying downtown and wanted to be 10 minutes early as attendees are asked to be). When I expressed my dissatisfaction at the last minute cancellation he justified it by saying he had given me an hour’s notice. I was told I could come to the walk the following day but I wasn’t able to fit this around my schedule on my last day in Mumbai. The website states that it’s very disappointing for the guide when guests cancel last minute, but what about being very disappointing for a guest when the guide cancels last minute, without any apology? The whole experience was unprofessional and I hope this doesn’t happen to other potential attendees going forward.
Die Tour mit Sanjay war sehr informativ und kurzweilig. Er zeigte uns interessante Orte in Mumbai auch abseits der Haupttouristenattraktionen wie das Kino, die Kunstgalerie, den High Court, die Universität und die Börse. Er weiß unglaublich viel über Mumbai und auch Indien um Allgemeinen, auf jeden Frage hatte er eine Antwort. Er hat sich wirklich Zeit für uns genommen und ist auf unsere Nachfragen ausführlich eingegangen. Schöne Tour, bei der nicht nur im Schnelldurchlauf die Hauptattraktionen abgehakt werden.
Sanjay gave a great introduction to Mumbai and India. The train trip up to the laundry was worth it to set the scene for modern-day Mumbai. Sanjay's communication before and during the tour was great, he was very informative, happy to chat and answer all of our questions and gave many tips on things to do in India. Many thanks!
