Towa was a delightful guide! Very informative. Thank you!
On a day of heavy rain in Kyoto, we thought the day was a write-off … squelchy shoes at countless temples, crowds of umbrellas instead of sights. Last minute, we booked this food tour in the Nishiki market with Towa, which became a highlight from our trip to Japan! As others have said, it’s good to be there when the market is in full swing. To add to that, bring an appetite (and some cash)! We weren’t sure exactly how much audience participation there’d be, but thankfully we hadn’t had lunch already, and all the snacks along the way made for an authentic and tasty Kyoto lunch. My 9-year old daughter was sceptical, but ended up loving it, and got lots of attention from our guide, Towa! 100% recommend!
Sarah gave us exactly what we were looking for from a tour of Nishiki Market and more! She has an evident passion for Japanese history and was eager to answer any questions we had about the market, Kyoto, and Japanese culture/history. I would recommend than anyone looking to visit Nishiki Market book this tour as it will add to your enjoyment of an incredible area in Kyoto!
Leo was a great guide. Friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours wandering through Kyoto and learning more about the city and its history.
Uta macht eine super Führung durch den Markt und das alte Viertel Richtung Fluss, der perfekte Einstieg in die Erkundung der Stadt!
Leo and Towa were extremely helpful, informative and very knowledgeable. They made our first tour in Kyoto really memorable. Highly recommended both
Wonderful tour, we really learnt a lot an about different food and culture of Kyoto. Akemi our guide was lovely, energetic with a bubbly personality and had lots of knowledge with the food stalls and what and where to eat. She made each of us welcome. The tour is one I’d highly recommend.
Sarah was brilliant. The tour was really interesting and informative.Sarah was full of fun and energy, very engaging with lots of anecdotes. So much more than a foodie type tour. Thank you Sarah.
It was good, but we had an excellent tour at tsukiji market in tokyo so that was the baseline.
Mayo was a great guide, we really enjoyed our tour with a local. Mayo had excellent English, very knowledgeable, and allowed us time to buy some snacks along the way and then we walked back through the markets to buy more. We were lucky enough to see a Meiko which was great. Highly recommend this tour with Mayo
Mayo did a great job communicating and making it interesting.
This was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Kyoto. Leo took us through Nishiki Market and tucked-away local gems, bringing everything to life with fascinating stories, local insight and a real sense of fun. Colourful, animated and full of places we’d never have found on our own. A memorable way to experience Kyoto — highly recommend this tour.
Sehr sympathisch, kennt Antworten auf alle unsere Fragen, war spannend. Lio kompetent - gerne wieder!
Good tour of the nishiki market and surrounding area. Leo is a very informative, patient and pleasant tour guide
It was a tour where i learned a lot about the real habits of the people of Kyoto. It was a joyfull experience. I loved it.
Lovely, private tour thru the market with personal insights. Included a number of additional sites given our small group. Loved the opportunity to try a few items at the market and look forward to coming back to explore on our own. Great overview from a local :)
We did a very interesting and informative tour with Han. Great choice of locations ☺️
Great tour with lots of nice food insights from our tourguide, who was very knowledgeable about history However I'd recommend booking a tour after noon since at 9 a lot of the foodstalls at the market are not open yet Still, we had a great time and got good recommendations about what to try later.
It was vero intresting and unexpected. TOP tour
