I thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide, Maria, was extremely knowledgeable and conveyed the history with great sensitivity. She was engaging and easy to listen to, bringing the horrors of Hiroshima to life without overwhelming us with information. Her facts and stories felt genuine and powerful. The main sites were also conveniently close together, making it an easy walk.

Matthew our guide was quite exceptional. He delivered a warm, enlightening and informative walk through this incredible city. It was an absolute joy to listen to him as he shared his knowledge, and to allow the walk to generate its own emotions as we remembered what had transpired, and how we could all acknowledge the significant events that took place and ensure that future generations will also learn from the past without shame.

The tour with Yehor was amazing. I was quite sceptical at the start of the tour, but I found this tour to be one of the best guru walks that I have attended, and I have attended guru walk in more than a dozen countries. He brought to life the Buddhist way of life and living and their philosophy and keep the tour interesting all the way through. He also went out of his way to guide us to the vegetarian restaurant that we had identified at the end of the tour. Great experience all the way!!

The human story was the best part besides the historical facts.

Fuego, sombras y paz: Hiroshima como nunca la habías escuchado

We had a great insightful guide who expanded our knowledge on the subject. He encouraged questions from the group. When we visited the museum a day later our background understanding on the effects of the bombing were so much clearer due into our guru walk experience.

Even though some people didn’t show up, he still went ahead with the tour just for us, which we really appreciated. Everything was perfect! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to answer our questions. And a special thank you for the Okonomiyaki recommendation... it was delicious! We genuinely enjoyed every moment of the tour and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much, Matthew! Highly recommended!
